After visiting Meyer's Market for the first time, you'll spot the Unfinished Expedition side quest on the Once Human map. This page will walk you through how to complete Unfinished Expedition in Once Human and tell you whether you should pick Maxie or Claire at the end.

Once Human Unfinished Expedition Quest Walkthrough

While we have a full walkthrough below, here are the steps to finish the Unfinished Expedition side quest in Once Human:

1. Pick up the Unfinished Expedition quest from the lighthouse.
2. Grab the Environmental Security Records from the ship outside of Wild Dog Outpost.
3. Go inside the Wild Dog Outpost and pick up the Medical Records.
4. Head into the upper area of Wild Dog Outpost and solve the crate photo puzzle.
5. Go inside the hidden room and interact with the Army Records.
6. Solve the computer puzzle.
7. Return to Meyer's Market and hand the Rosetta research documents to either Maxie or Claire.

To start Unfinished Expedition, you must pick up the Expedition Notes from the top of the lighthouse southeast of Meyer's Market. You'll find it at map coordinates 6598, -6955. You can see the exact location of the Unfinished Expedition side quest starting location in our map screenshot below:

Pick up the Expedition Notes, and you'll receive the first part of Denise Cooper's Journal. You'll find out that the Union Explorer started an expedition to Wild Dog Isle to uncover Rosetta secrets, but her boat failed and she had to abandon it. She pleads with you, the reader, to pick up where she left off. Time to travel to Wild Dog Isle!

Wild Dog Isle is just a short swim away from the lighthouse, and there are three sets of Rosetta's research documents to find. The first one is on a derelict ship just northeast of the lighthouse at map coordinates 6677, -7247. If you time your jump right, you can glide from the lighthouse and land on the ship.

Pick up the Environmental Security Records, then head east toward the Wild Dog Outpost, a level 17+ recommended area. Travel up the hill, and you'll eventually come to the Wild Dog Outpost's main gate.

Once in Wild Dog Outpost, look straight ahead and you'll see a building with "ROSETTA LABORATORY" on it. Go inside, then go up the stairs to the left. Pick up the Medical Records from the table.

The Wild Dog Outpost Weapon and Mystical Crates are in a room below where you pick up the Medical Records. You'll need a Rosetta V2 Access Card, which is dropped by a Rosetta Bruiser.

Leave the building, then turn left and left again. Go straight until you see a large gate on your left and some white cargo crates a helicopter on your right. Go through the gate and head up the hill.

There's a Gear Crate by the helicopter, though it's heavily guarded by a level 17 Rosetta Bruiser. Once defeated, they drop the Rosetta V2 Access Card needed for the Weapon and Mystical Crates.

Once you're in the new section, look left and you'll spot a grey building with a green cargo crate outside. There's a photo of a child on the building and another on the cargo crate. The trick here is to stand in the right spot so that they line up; do so correctly and a door will appear. Below is the exact spot you'll want to stand in, then move your mouse so that the two photos make one:

Go inside the door and you'll see the Army Records on the table. There's also a Storage Crate here with some uncommon Materials inside.

Interact with the Army Records, and you'll need to solve a randomly-generated puzzle. The aim is to get the three numbered segments to line up perfectly at the bottom of the circle by clicking on the three circles on the right. Each circle moves the numbered segments in a particular way.

With the three Rosetta research documents in-hand, return to Meyer's Market and hand them into either Claire or Maxie to finish the Unfinished Expedition quest in Once Human.

Maxie or Claire in Unfinished Expedition

We tested both outcomes and it doesn't matter who you hand the Unfinished Expedition research documents to in Once Human. Both Claire and Maxie will give you the exact same rewards, which are:
